If you want to take a guided canoe trip down the Altamaha River on August 21 and learn about the history of the rice plantations while viewing the river, salt water marsh and wild life, come to the Fort King George Historic Site at 8 a.m. The location is 209 McIntosh Avenue in Darien, Georgia.
Canoes, paddles and life jackets are provided. Particpants will want to bring water, sunscreen, snacks and bug spray. The cost is only $25.00 per person and details are provided at 912-437-4770.
