On Saturday, September 12 at 1 p.m., visit Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation Historic Site located off Highway 17 north of Brunswick and learn ore about about history and the Gullah-Geechee people in a lecture by Jeanne Cyrique. On Saturday, September 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m, people 50 and over can take this refresher course in an AARP Drive Safety Program at the College of Coastal Georgialocated at 3700 Altama Avenue in Brunswick, Georgia. This course may quality attendees for a discount on their auto insurance by learning about defensive driving, traffic laws, road rules and more. $12.00 is the cost of the workbook to go with workshopo is $12.00 to AARP members and $14 to non-members. On Saturday September 12 at 7 p.m. attend a benefit for the Hospice of the Golden Isles at the Brunswick Shrine Club, 155 Darien Highway, Brunswick, Georgia. Enjoy dinner and dance and live music by popular local musician - Vic Waters. Cost of attendance - $60.00. For details call 912-269-5001.
