Hey Julie - Great photos... Is the lighthouse still in operation? There are some lighthouses in Michigan that have been turned into B&Bs. Always looking for unique properties with unique stories - do tell.

The story of this light house is long and I have attached a link to explain it.....this property, like Cumberland, will not be developed.

Julie - there is something to be said about island life, whether in the tropics or the coastal islands of the southeast.

Being able to go just go and not have to do anything but put gas in jetskis and pack something on ice is the best vacation of all. No packing, no sleeping in hotels........only takes about 30 - 40 minutes from dock to get to these particular islands.

This is how the beaches on Cumberland, Jekyll and Sapelo appear -vacant - not like Miami and Manhattan and Hermosa Beach...........these are state and federally protected areas......it is wonderful. Thank God someone had the foresight not to develop everything.
