What a great day in the inter-coastal waterways in Coastal Georgia. My husband Conrad and I took our first day in so long we don't remember but the jet skis were calling our name. Along the banks you see wildlife of all kinds.
The weather was great and it takes about 45 minutes from our launch to get to Bird Island. This small island is almost completely covered at high tide year round. And as you see, there is really nothing on the island except birds and shells.
Some of the birds enjoy some time in the water while my husband fished off his jet ski and I contemplated my surroundings.
Back to work tomorrow but we are watching the tides and the weather for our next afternoon in the water. Living here makes it easy to grab a couple to three hours before or after work if you watch the tides and watch your schedule.

Hi Julie, Great Photos, Makes me want to head to the ocean, Thanks for sharing.
Barbara,
As I always say, A Vacation Can Last A Lifetime....it is why I have never lived off of a coast......except when I lived on Lake Tahoe......I love water.....
Wow, Julie! I've never seen so many pelicans gathered in one spot!
Great photos Julie. I remember going to bird key when I lived in Brusnswick many moons ago. I really liked going to Sapelo Island for the beauty and sparseness of people. Like Bird Island - nothing but shells and sand...

It's been a while since I have made it to the beach, and I think your pics are giving me a reminder that I should take a ride here soon.
Julie,
It looks as though you had a very enjoyable day. So you are refreshed and ready for a GREAT week ahead.
Maria,
There are many pelicans and other birds...you have to get up close to see them all.
JL,
It is good for the soul which is why I cannot ever leave......
Michael,
I don't see how anyone can live off the coast......but not everyone likes water and boats and fishing and sand and beaches and fun......
Don,
My husband and I are refreshed and ready to go - I can do this is 3 - 4 hours out of work and if the tides and weather co-operate I can go out once or twice a week during this time of year.....it is amazing.....mini vacations are better than week long ones where I worry about my business, etc.
Julie - great photos and that looks like a wonderful time. The birds are beautiful and so is the area. There is nothing like planning a little fun in your day. Thanks for the nice post and great ideas!
